Privacy Policy

LearnFlip is an educational learning platform that turns summaries into interactive games and practice. We respect your privacy and collect only the minimum information necessary. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Amit Meyraz, operator of the LearnFlip service ("we" / "the Service"). For any privacy matter, contact [email protected].

2. What information we collect

Providing information is voluntary. Without certain data some features cannot work (such as saving progress or a paid subscription), but there is no legal obligation to provide it.

Student / player

Nickname (a name the child chooses) and grade level
Chosen in-game character and avatar
Personal access code (PIN) — stored hashed only, never as plain text
Gameplay and learning data: answers, mistakes, rating and progress

We do not collect a student's full name, ID number, address, phone number or photo.

Subscribing parent

Email address
Interface language
Subscription details: plan, status and a payment reference

Credit card details are never stored by us — they are processed directly by an approved payment provider (see section 4).

Teacher

Email address (for one-time-code login)

Automatically collected technical data

Cookies for session management
IP address — for abuse prevention and rate limiting
Usage data and error logs for maintenance and improvement

Content you upload

Summaries and documents you upload are processed to extract text and create games. Scanned documents or images may undergo OCR processing via a Google service (see section 4).

3. How we use the information

To provide the learning, game and practice services
To save progress and show reports to a parent or teacher
To manage subscriptions, payments and issue lawful invoices
To secure the service and prevent abuse
To improve the product and analyze usage in aggregate

4. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell personal information. We rely only on essential service providers:

An approved payment and invoicing provider — to process payments and issue invoices. Billing details go directly to them; we keep only a reference.
Google Cloud Vision — for OCR processing of uploaded documents and images to extract text.
Google Analytics 4 — for aggregate, and where possible anonymized, usage analytics.
Hosting provider — for secure storage of the service and data.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law or court order.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies for session management, and Google Analytics 4 for usage analytics. You can block cookies via your browser settings, but this may affect some features.

6. Information about minors

The service is intended for educational use, including by students. We deliberately collect only minimal data from a student (nickname and grade), with no identifying details. A student account linked to a parent is managed under the parent's account, and consent to processing the student's data is given by the parent. A parent may contact us at any time to review or delete data related to their child.

7. Data security

We take reasonable security measures: access codes are stored hashed, card details are not stored by us, and access to data is restricted. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

8. Data retention

We retain data as long as the account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations (such as keeping invoices). You may request deletion as described in section 9.

9. Your rights

Under Israel's Privacy Protection Law, you have the right to:

Access the information stored about you
Correct inaccurate or outdated information
Delete your data and account

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected] and we will handle your request promptly. We are working to add self-service deletion directly from the account.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. An updated version will be published on this page with a new update date.
